If they learn “x,y,z” now imagine what they can achieve when they’re older ✨🤩 Which sounds great in theory but they’re kids. Not 22 year old interns. They need to learn so much more about the world before they can fully grasp what to learn and what they want to learn. I think about this often because growing up is hard and it’s even harder when you’ve been given a to do list your whole life. Then you become an adult and it gets harder. She’s currently 5 and still in Pre-K level. She’ll be starting “kinder” learning next year when she’ll be a fresh 6 year old. Now you may ask “isn’t that late??” The answer is no. And I’ll dive more into that later. But at this stage (and many stages of childhood!) I want her to have a strong foundation of what she loves, her interests, and her confidence. When figuring out our homeschooling space I really struggled on how to set it up to where both could exist. Both the academics and her own space to think freely. We’re still figuring out what works for our family but it’s been so nice to have open shelves that are big enough for school work materials and also big enough for her nature collections and also her play. The space is a work in progress and I’ll continue to share more about it as time goes on and I learn more.
